The first thing to understand is that we all begin, as sinners before God:
Have you ever done anything wrong that hurt someone else?
Have you felt so guilty that you wanted to ask for forgiveness?
For some relief from guilt?
What, if you can never find them, or if they are deceased?
God has a plan for that.
First, all of us have sinned and fallen short of God’s glorious plan. (Rom. 3:23)
And further the ultimate wage of sin is death. (Rom. 6:23)
How is it that Jesus totally sinless ended up dying?
If not for his sins, then for whose sins?
God demonstrated His love for each of us; in that, while were still sinners, Christ died for us. (Rom. 5:8)
Jesus who never sinned became sin for us, so that we might become righteous in Him. (2 Cor. 5:21)
If you confess your sins, God is faithful and righteous to forgive you of your sins and to cleans you of all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
When God forgives, all is forgiven. Asking another to forgive you comes next.
Repent, therefore, and turn around for the wiping away of your sins, so that times of refreshing might come from the face of the Lord and that He might send Christ Jesus pre-handpicked for you. (Acts 3:19)
if you would confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and would believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. (Rom. 10:9)
In summary, God thus loved the world that He gave His one-of-a-kind son that whoever believes in Him would not perish but have eternal life. (Jn. 3:16)
As result of this, Salvation by Faith comes Faithfulness.
You can talk to God and tell Him what you believe in a prayer such as this:
“Thank you, God, that Jesus Christ died on the cross and paid for my sins and then was raised from the dead. I admit that I have sins in my life and ask that You would forgive me of _____ (fill in the blank).
I am willing to repent, to change and turn from these sins and be changed.
I am trusting in Jesus Christ, as my Savior, and entrusting to Him my life, as my Lord, my Boss.
Help me to be the kind of person that you want me to be.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.”
